Many people have asked Victor and I why we began hosting wellness retreats. The root of the resets stem from one-word, COMMUNITY. The vision of these resets started when Victor went on a Lululemon retreat in Seaside heights with other local Lululemon ambassadors. The ability to be with likeminded people, share ideas, learn from one another and build community through wellness was inspiring.
About a year later Victor was chosen to go on the Lululemon global ambassador summit. One ambassador from each region was chosen to go on this retreat to learn from one another, foster their purpose, and create community. While on this retreat he met people from all around the world, Korea, Canada, UK, New Zealand, Japan, and all over the United States. The summit was held in Whistler Canada, (if you’ve never been, we highly recommend going, it is gorgeous.)
While on this retreat the idea to host his own wellness, retreats came back to the forefront of his mind.
The idea began the summer of 2016 and finally came to fruition in January 2019. We had an amazing group of eight people. Most people did not know each other, which made the experience even more special. The weekend started with a small group of five, the rest would join later. We had dinner on Friday night complete with setting intentions for the weekend and everyone hanging out. The next morning two more people arrived just in time for group workout. After the workout we had breakfast followed by mediation. Many people had never mediated and expressed that the experienced was something that they enjoyed but would have never tried if not for the retreat. During down time we offered Thai Yoga Massage. The day continued with a group hike and goal setting. We ended the day with group game night. If you’re not close after game night you’re doing game night wrong lol. Sunday we finished the retreat with morning yoga, meditation and a recap of the weekend.
Everyone said a teary good bye and left for home taking with them a journal which everyone had written notes of encouragement in so they will be able to look back at their journal and vividly remember the retreat.
Within two weeks we began planning our next retreat eager to share this experience with as many people as possible. As we continue this journey we are excited for the possibilities and growth that lie ahead.
